Blind

Sometimes you just see a problem that needs to be fixed,
And you don’t see the person who just needed an ear
You think you’re a handyman with all of your tricks,
But you tried to fix a stone house with a pile of sticks

You gave a lantern to the sun, and curtains to the moon
Your answers are hollow, lost in a rush to appear
A child asked for happiness, you handed him a balloon
We all make mistakes, but you act way too soon

You patch the cracks without seeing the fracture,
Thinking you’ve fixed what you can never restore
The heart’s not a wound you can seal with a gesture
It needs more than what you’re willing to venture
